🌍 About BAFTS Fair Trade Network UK
The British Association for Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers (BAFTS) is a vibrant UK-wide network of independent shops, suppliers, and ethical businesses committed to promoting Fair Trade retail. As proud members, we stand alongside others who believe in trading partnerships rooted in dialogue, transparency, and respect, working to create greater equity in global commerce.

BAFTS members adhere to the 10 Principles of Fair Trade as defined by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), including:
- Paying fair prices that reflect the true cost of production
- Supporting producers’ social and environmental initiatives
- Promoting gender equality and safe working conditions
- Committing to long-term relationships that foster stability
- Campaigning for trade justice and environmental sustainability
Membership is peer-reviewed annually, ensuring accountability and genuine commitment to ethical sourcing. BAFTS also connects members to a wider global movement, partnering with organizations like the Fairtrade Foundation, Traidcraft Exchange, and the Climate Coalition.
As members of BAFTS, we’re proud to be part of a community that champions artisan producers, sustainable practices, and cultural storytelling—values that resonate deeply with our own mission.
